Gone are the days when you bought a complete look where you got the right top, bottom, shoes and all accessories meant to stay together always. Today’s savvy shopper wants an accessory and their shoes to go with everything – from evening dress to shorts. Designers know this and have gone to great lengths to deliver just that.
One example is the success of the bootie. Nice suede peppy boots, for example, look cool with whatever you wear them with. There are so many delicious styles in booties that one is tempted to have a couple dozen different styles – at the very least! They look quite snazzy trimmed with fringe or tassels, sophisticated with fur embellishment, naughty in leather decorated with chains.
Materials used for booties hit all over the spectrum, including exotic skins such as python and crocodile or alligator. Fur is fun with panther, leopard and faux-fur styles.
There are lace-ups and buckles, and buttons and bows. Most have a significant heel although they can be thin, thick or a wedge. Truly the variety is exciting.
Some top favorite styles come from Roger Vivier, Balmain, Sergio Rossi, Tory Burch, Burberry and Thakoon just to name a few.
Booties lend themselves to any wardrobe and any season of the year as they are incredibly versatile. It is hard not to fall in love with this wonderful trend in footwear. The hardest part may be keeping from owning more pairs than you have room in your closet to store!
